Time Flies - A New Year - New Ideas

Hi,

Hope you all had a great Christmas etc - a good rest in my case - last year was a bit traumatic in certain ways

Have been doing, amongst other things, some revamping of a couple more songs - reasonably happy so far.

Why is it that when you think you have finished do you think - Ah another song in my head to do or why did I include that one???  Sometimes I think its best to just go for it with a live recording so you don't spend months tweeking and changing so much that by the time you have finished you have almost convinced yourself to scrap it all and start again...

Anyhow - time for some more music......

Wow!  Almost the end of another year...
Still working hard with my ideas - even had a go at writing a folk-type song!!!!  nuff sed!
Re-working some existing stuff - changing the mix, tweeking an arrangement here and there.
It'll be alright on the night

Still Writing...

Well, been a while, but I am up to 7 new songs now. Still need a few more for the new CD.
Work not going as fast as I would like, but better to take your time and get it right rather than rush a project.
Failing musical inspiration, I am spending time on the CD artwork - looking good so far!

More practice

Awaiting arrival of new isolation headphones - means plenty of drumming and guitar practice without making my ears ache - and not being able to hear the neighbours scream!!! Mind you my practice cymbals are pretty Argh!

Drum practice is fine - but even with earplugs there is a limit to the time you can do it.

Same old problem - spend a long time on a project - finish said project - what to do now??????

Sleep??

Although I have spent the afternoon messing about setting up and tuning one of my drum kits, the last option seems a good bet now!

Get the spanners out!

Well, now that the CD is done - what to do next.
Messing with my drum kits seems to be the order of the day.
Have been getting arm ache 'cos for some reason I have had the cymbals mounted really high ???
Everything lowered by about 6 inches and WOW! ! can see over the kit now.

There now follows a heavy tuning session with 13 - yes 13 drums...

Put the coffee on!
